Mamidikaya ravva pulihora

My Mom usually makes this ravva pulihora with lemon or mango on festival days..v enjoy eating this with curd.

Ingredients:-

Rice ravva  2 cups

Grated mango 1 cup ( amount is based on sourness of mango)

Water 3 cups

Oil 2 tspn (while boiling ravva)

Oil 1 tspn ( for sauting grated mango)

Talimpu/Tadka/Seasoning

Oil 3 tspns for Talimpu/Seasoning

Red chillies 3

Green chillies 3

Chana dal 2 spoons

urad dal 2 spoons

ground nuts 20

cashews 2 spoons( optional)

mustard seeds 1 tspn

curry leaves 10-12

turmeric powder  1/2 tspn

salt to taste

Procedure:-

Take a cooking bowl and  add 2 spoons of oil n 3 cups of water..bring the water to boil..add enough salt in water..when the water come to boil add rice ravva n stir it well..let it cook for 10 minutes…when the ravva is cooked..off the flame and transfer it to wide  plate  and spread.so that it get cool down soon..there should not be any lumps.

while the ravva is boiling u can saute the grated mango..for that, heat a frying pan with a tspn oil..add the grated Mango n saute it well till it gets mashed up..if required add a tspn of   water  or oil after a meanwhile while sauting…when it gets mashed up..off the flame..keep it aside.

Heat the other sauting pan with 2 tspns of oil..when the oil is hot enough add all the tadka ingredients except curry leaves n saute till the mustard pops up..now add curry leaves and turmeric powder..saute for 5 seconds n off the flame…

Pour this tadka on the ravva ..and also the mango paste..mix it well so that the mango taste n the tadka spices are finely coated n mixed with ravva….adjust salt if n spice if necessary..

Mamidikaya ravva pulihora is ready… :-)  serve it with curd.

Note:-

If you don’t have wide plate..u can spread it on the big polythene cover….that is washed n cleaned…spread the polythene cover on the floor or dining table n spread this cooked ravva on it..its comfortable to mix  if we cook large quantity…after finishing..wash the cover n store it for future use,..u can use this method for making any pulihora.

If the sourness of mango is not enough u can squeeze one lemon.

For making nimmakaya ravva pulihora…jus add lemon juice n tadka to cooked ravva.
