Sweet mini pepper chetney /capsicum chtney




I got the bag  if sweet mini peppers from Costco (whole sale store) ..made  chetney with this peppers..As the name itself says sweet peppers..they may nt be sweet like sugar but they r nt spicy..so we need to add green chillies to get the spicyness.



  • Sweet mini peppers
  • green chillies 3 or 4 based on the spicyness u want
  • garlic pods 3 or 4
  • cumin seeds 1 spoon
  • turmeric 1 tspn
  • salt as per taste
  • tamarind  ..size of 2 to 3 seeds

Seasoning /Talimpu /Tadka:-

  • oil 1 tspn
  • red chiilies 1 or2
  • jeera 1/ tspn
  • urad dal 1/2 tspn
  • chana dal 1/2 tspn
  • mustard seeds 1/ tspn
  • curry leaves few.



  • Chop the peppers length wise…
  • Chop the green chillies  length wise n fry them for 2  to 3 minutes in a skillet by adding a spoon of oil..when the green chillies starts to change its color..remove them to a plate n add chopped peppers to the skillet n let them cook on medium to low flame till they  become soft..cover the skillet with lid.
  • Once the peppers r cooked ..let them cool down to make chetney.in a mixy jar take fried green chillies ,garlic pods,salt, turmeric powder,cumin seeds,tamarind n grind them..Once they became like paste now add the cooked peppers n grind them once agin to paste…that’s it..check for the salt.
  • Finally keep talimpu /tadka to this chetney for nice look with all the seasoning ingredients..for that..in a small pan  heat a spoon of oil ..when the oil is  hot add the tadka ingredients ..when the mustard seeds starts popping..off the flame n pour the tadka along with oil on the top of this chetney…while serving mix it n serve.
