Mushroom curry



Mushrooms 3 cups (split them to half if they r big in size)P2020003

onion 1 medium ,chopped well

Tomatoes 2, chopped into medium sized cubes.

Green chilies 3 to 4

Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tspn.

Oil 2 to 3 tspns ( for frying mushrooms)

Salt to t aste

Turmeric powder & red chilli powder (as per required)

garam masala powder 1/2 tspn (optional)


Oil 2 tspns

Cumin seeds 1/2 tspn

Mustard seeds 1/2 tspn

Chana dal 1/2 tspn (optional)

Urad dal 1/2 tspn (optional)

Garlic cloves 2 ,crushed


  • Heat the sautage pan with 2 /3 tspns of oil ..when the oil is hot enough reduce the flame to sim n saute the Mushrooms for 10 mints…while sautéing Mushrooms water will be oozed from the mushrooms…sauté till the water evaporates ,it takes around 10 mints..take care not to burn them.
  • Heat the kadai with 2 tspns of oil..when the oil is hot enough, reduce the flame to sim. Add crushed garlic and saute for few seconds till the nice aroma of garlic comes out..saying that the garlic is fried…Now add red chilies,cumin mustard seeds,chana dal n urad dal..sauté till mustard starts splitting..
  • Now add chopped onions and green chillies ..sauté  for few mints till the onions become transparent,add ginger garlic paste n saute till for a minute till the raw smell goes ,Now add chopped tomatoes and sauté for 3 mints till the tomatoes gets cooked and add sauted Mushroom , salt ,red chilli powder and turmeric powder..cook on low flame for about 15 mints till the mushroom gets cooked n absorbs the spices.
  • Sprinkle the garam masala power when the curry is done..let it cook for a minute or two n off the flame.

Note:- If u wash the mushrooms don't forget to squeeze them after washing..otherwise it will hold water like a sponge.
