Bendakaya pachadi
Hi all ..iam being too long since I updated my site..bit busy with my lill busy bee( my daughter)..Iam in India now..enjoying mom’s food and mother India.
This Bendakaya roti pachadi is made my ammamma (maternal grandma) . she is a cooking expert I feel because every one praises her cooking.
This bendakaya pachadi / ladies finger chetney is very n crunchy with raw onion pieces …soft ladies fingers are preferred for this pachadi (letha bendakayalu)
The below recipe gives a small bowl of chetney.
Ingredients:-
Bendakayalu tender ones : 10
green chillies :3 (based on the spicyness of thr chillies)
- salt as per taste
- oil 2 spoons
- tamarind 1 spoon (a very small ball)
- turmeric 1/2 tspn
- cumin seeds /jeelakarra 1 tspn
- garlic cloves 3 or 4
- Raw onion :half
Procedure:-
- Wash the ladies fingers n chop into 2 inches length wise.
- Pour a spoon of oil in a pan and fry these chopped vegetables in a very low flame.. sprinkle 2 pinches of salt on the vegetables cover them with let n let it cook till soft…once they r half cooked open the lid n pour some water like 1/4th cup so that they will b cooked to soft. once they r done..remove them to a plate.
- In the same pan add some oil n fry the green chilles on a very low flame till they slightly change their color..(make a small cut on every chilli to avoid bursting while frying them)
- Now grind all the ingredients except cooked ladies fingers and onion.
- Add little salt as required..grind them nicely..now add ladies finger pieces grind once ..now add raw onion n grind once..that's it
- Remove to a bowl n make talimpu/seasoning if u like.
- * if u r making this pachadi in a mixer don’t blend it to too soft. All the pieces should be visible..should not be like paste.
