Broccoli curry with egg / Broccoli , guddu podumu



Broccoli  1

Eggs 2

green chillies 3 , chopped finely

Onion 1 medium size , chopped finely

curry leaves few

Ginger garlic paste 1 tspn

Garam masala powder 1/2 tspn


Oil 2 tspns

Chana dal 1 tspn

Urad dal 1/2 tspn

mustard seeds 1/2 tspn

cumin seeds 1/2 tspn

Red chillies 2 , broken in middle


  • Chop the broccoli  very finely… include te tender stem and remove the hard stem..chop it as finely as possible.
  • Heat the skillet with oil
  • when the oil is hot enough add the tadka /talimpu/seasoning  ingredients  and saute it ill the mustard seeds starts popping up…Now add the chopped onions , green chillies and curry leaves..saute for 30 seconds till the onions become transparent..add ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 minute.
  • Now add the chopped broccoli ,enough salt and turmeric powder ..stir it well and saute for 5 to 10 minutes…till the broccoli becomes soft…
  • Now break two eggs and add it to the curry and saute it well so the egg mixture breaks in to small cubes and mix it in the broccoli…let it cook for 2 minutes and reduce the flame, sprinkle little garam masala powder and let it cook for 3 minutes in low flame n off the the stove.


  • Broccoli cooks very test the broccoli can taste the stem of the broccoli..if it does not taste raw taste then its cooked..
  • Broccoli wont become too remains little crunchy.
  • It goes well with rotis and even rice…it will be like dry curry.
