Tasty masala vada..i got this recipe from my mother in law n this is my hubby’s most favorite snack. i never eat it before..after eating once even i became fan of it..Masala vada..hmmmm…tasty…we cant stop eating jus one r two..our hand will always going to the bowl to take one more vada…hope u will make this ..taste this n enjoy..
Ingredients:
1 cup chana dal
1 cup moong dal (pesara pappu)
one onion
4 green chillies
2 sticks cinnamon
3 cloves
1tspn jeera
2 red chillies
coriander leaves ( optional)
preparation:
Soak chana dal n moong dal in sepate bowls for atleast 5 to 6 hours.
chop onions into big pieces.
gring the each dal seperately into very coarse consistancy (it should it become paste /soft)
while grinding dals..add red chillies, cinammon sticks, cloves to one dal at the bottom n add dal on the top and gring it coarsely (4 to 5 seconds)
while grinding another dal add onions, green chillies,jeera at the bottom n place dal on top and gring for few seconds.
Now mix both the dals wich r grinded coarsely, add chopped coriander leaves
Heat Oil in a pan. Divide the dal mix into small balls, flatten them into small patties, either using your palm or using a wet plastic cover.
Once the oil is hot, deep fry each one until its well cooked. Normally takes around 5 mins on sim for each one to be ready.
