Carrot pesarapappu kura/ carrot Moong dal curry
Hi..
Cooking time:15 to 20 minutes
carrot moong dal curry is quick and tasty curry..which go well rice/roti…
Ingredients:-
Carrots 9
moong dal half cup
Onion 1 small
green chillies 2
curry leaves
Seasoning/Tadka/Talimpu:-
Oil 2 tspns
crushed garlic cloves 3
red chillies 2
mustard seeds 1/2 tspn
cumin seeds 1/2 tspn
chana dal 1 tspn
urad dal 1tspn
Preparation:-
- Wash the moon dal and soak in water for 5 to 10 minutes.
- Chop the onions ,green chilies and chop the carrots into small cubes as shown in picture.
- heat the kadai with oil..when the oil is hot enough add crushed garlic and saute for 15 seconds..reduce the flame to sim..Now add red chilies,cumin seeds, mustard seeds, urad dal and chana dal , saute till mustard seeds starting popping..now add chopped onions and green chilies and curry leaves…saute for 5 minutes…add the chopped carrots and moon dal with out water…Add enough salt,red chilli powder and turmeric powder..stir it well once and close with lid.
- Let it cook on low to medium flame for 10 minutes..till the carrots become soft..stir the curry in middle to avoid sticking of the curry to kadai……adjust the seasonings if necessary..can off the flame when the carrot becomes soft..(carrots will quickly become soft in 10 minutes)
