ravva dosa
Hi…
Ravva dosa is one the easiest n instant dosa..can be made with out any fermentation n all..
Ingredients:-
Rice flour 1 cup (biyyam pindi)
all purpose flour 1cup(Maida)
sooji (ravva) 1 cup
milk 1 cup
cumin seeds 1tspn
Onion 1(chopped finely)
grated coconut 4 tspn (optional)
Green chillies 2 (chopped into round wheels)
grated carrot 4 tspns (optional)
salt to taste.
Oil as required for frying dosa
Preparation:-
Take a bowl and mix all the ingredients well with out any lumps..add enough water and make it to very light in consistency..the consistency should in such way that we can cannot pour dosa on the pan and shape it like a regular dosa..it should be very light
Now heat the pan..nonstick pan is preferable..so that dosa wont stick to the pan and v can add little oil for frying..
When the pan is hot enough reduce the flame to sim..now rub little oil on the pan and sprinkle this dosa mix on the pan..till the pan is covered…take a spoon of oil and pour it on the edges of the dosa and in the middle also..
This dosa will be with full of holes..let it fry till nice golden brown color and remove it….
Note:-
Dosa will come very nice and nonstick if we prepare the batter before one hour or so…
This dosa should not be turned to other side to fry..as this dosa is very thin..frying in one side is enough…
While removing dosa from pan ..be very careful at the edges of dosa..it will break very soon…if the edges broken..it wont be that good to see

Can you also suggest recipe for some chutneys? I remember my mom used to make a few varieties of chutneys [Nellore style]. Peanut Chutney, Peanut with Coconut Chutney, Fresh tomato chutney [Pachadi] etc.
If you can suggest substitutes/tips for indian ingredients that can be easily picked up from pathmark/shoprite or any local supermarkets that would also be great.

Iam very sorry for my late reply… by the way soji / semolina/ ravva ante upma ravva ne. inka miru milk add cheyakunda kuda cheyocha ani annaru..ya milk add cheyakunda kuda kuda cheyochu ..kakapothe water ki badulu milk add chesthe manchi texture vasthundi ante..the actual recipe can be made with water only ..added flavour kosam milk add chesthamu ante.
