Aloo kurma/ poatato kurma/ bangaladumapa kurma
Potatoes 2
tomato 1
onion 1
green chillies 2
ginger garlic paste 1/2 tspn
curd 1 cup
curry leaves
Seasoning/Tadka/talimpu:-
oil 2 tspns
Whole garam masala (1 cardamom,2"cinnamon stick,cloves 4)
mustard seeds 1/2 tspn
cumin seeds 1/2 tspn
chana dal 1 tspn
urad dal 1tspn
Preparation:-
- Peel the potatoes and cut into medium sized cubes.chop the tomato,cut the onion and green chillies into long slices.
- Heat oil in skillet
- When the oil is hot enough reduce the flame to sim and add all seasoning ingredients and sauté till mustard seeds starts popping up..now add chopped onions, green chillies and curry leaves.Sauté till onions become soft..add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute till the raw smell goes..now add chopped tomato and place the lid n let it cook for 1 or two minutes..till the tomato becomes soft and mashed,add little water to get the moisture in the curry while cooking potatoes..Now add potato cubes , red chilli powder,turmeric powder and salt to taste..cook till potatoes are cooked.
- Now add beaten curd and cook on low flame for 5 minutes..so that the curd absorbs all the spices and taste…check the spices..adjust if necessary and turn off the stove..
Note:- This dish can be taken as side dish for any biryani..or pulav
If oven is available…cook the potato cubes in the oven for 4 minutes to reduce the cooking time..they will be half cooked…now you can add the potatoes as said above..
