Goduma ravva upma / upma with cracked wheat

Hi...

Goduma ravva upma is a very healthy upma when compared to bombai rava upma...this bombai rava upma makes us feel sleepy and lazy...but this upma keeps us active.This is one of my husband's  favorite dish...Before marriage i am the lover of white upma(bombai rava) ..But now..along with my husband even i enjoy eating this upma...

Ingridients:

cracked wheat soji (goduma rava) 1 cup
tomato 1
ginger 1 small piece
green chillies 3  (* based on ur spicyness*)
Onion 1
curry leaves
oil 2 tspns
Mustard seeds 1/2 tspn

chana dal  1tspn
Urad dal 1 tspn
groundnuts 20 (appoximately)( optional)
cashewnuts 10 (optional)
Salt to taste
Preparation:
chop  Tomato,Onions and green chillies into slices... chop the ginger piece into very small pieces.
Heat kadai with 2 tspns of oil..Now add Mustard seeds,chana dal and urad dal into oil..sauté for 5 seconds and add ground nuts and cashew nuts..sauté till the mustard seeds pop..now add chopped onions ,curry leaves,green chillies,ginger..sauté for 2 minutes..now add chopped tomato and sauté it for 3 minutes ..now the tomato becomes soft..(u can smash it with the spoon so that they wont be visible in upma(optional) )..
Now add 3 cups of water to tadka and  add enough salt ...now increase the stove and bring water to boil...when the water is boiling..taste the water to check the correctness of salt...if required add little to it..
Now reduce the stove to Sim n pour wheat soji with one hand slowly into the boiling water and with another hand stir the water while the wheat soji is poured to avoid the forming of lumps.Now stir it well n increase  stove to medium for 3 to 4 minutes and reduce it to Sim and let it cook for 5 to 10 minutes...serve hot....enjoy....
