Pakistani fish curry
Ingredients:-
for fish marinating:
- fish fillet 1 (any fish)
- salt 1/4th tsp.
- turmeric powder 1/4th tsp.
- red chili powder 1/4th tsp.
- coriander powder 1/4th tsp.
- lemon juice 1 tsp.
For curry:
- Onion 1 chopped
- curry leaves few
- curd 3 spoons
- tomato 1 very finely chopped
- turmeric powder 1/4th tsp.
- salt 1/4th tsp. (as per taste)
- red chili powder 1/4th tsp.
- coriander powder 1/4th tsp.
- garlic pods 3 , crushed
- methi seeds 1/4 tsp.
- cumin seeds 1tspn
- oil 4 tspns
- coconut milk 1/2 cup
Procedure:-
- Mix a spoon of lemon juice in the marinating ingredients..mix well n apply to fish pieces and keep it aside for marinating.
- Heat a pan with a 2 spoons of oil ..when the oil is hot enough add methi seeds / fenugreek seeds , cumin seeds and crushed garlic cloves..sauté till the spices starts popping..now add chopped onion , curry leaves and sauté till the onion starts to turn to little brown..now add chopped tomato n sauté it for a minute n remove the whole thing to a plate to let it cool down.
- curry paste:- mix curd to these fried onions n grind it to paste.
- Add 2 spoons of oil In the same pan in which u sauted onions ..add the marinated fish pieces n fry them both sides for 2 to 3 minutes..now add the onion paste to the fish pieces n mix them..take care not to break the fish pieces.let to cool for 5 minutes.
- Now add coconut milk to the curry..adjust the spices if required and let it cook until the oil oozes out from curry ..off the flame..garnish with chopped coriander leaves n serve.
