Bread omelet


Preparation time : 10 mints || serves 1 person

Bread omelet is the simple, quick yet healthy breakfast.this is my hubby’s favorite Tiffin..there are many versions of making this bread omelet..Here is the basic version.


Egg 1

Onion 1 very small

Green chillies 2

Redchilli powder 1/4 tspn ( karam podi)

Turmeric powder a pinch ( pasupu)

Salt to taste ( taginantha)

dry mango powder , a pinch ( optional)


  • chop well the onion and green chillies.
  • In a bowl add chopped onion, green chillies , red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt,dry mango powder  and mix them well add 2 spoons of milk to them and mix.
  • Now break the egg and beat it in the onion mixture..beat it well.
  • Heat the kadai with two tspns of oil..when the oil is hot..pour this egg mixture in the kadai and cover it with lid…the flame should not be very should be in medium so that the omelet gets cooked evenly. wait for few minutes and flip over the omelet to other side ..Waite till cooked and remove the omelet to serving plate.
  • Now take 4 bread slices  and toast the bread slices slightly on both sides in the same omelet pan till light brown color..
  • If the omlette is very big in size make it into two halves and arrange it in between two of the bread slices..serve it with chopped onions and tomatoes if requires.


Tip: Adding milk to the onion mixture helps in avoids forming lums of redchilli powder when we add egg and it also gives nice color.
